The Smell of Burning

2016

A melancholy reimagining of a painting by my husband from 2004 also titled The Smell of Burning. A focal point of this piece is the significance of the marital bed during turbulent times.

Impulse

2016

This film is inspired by the many ways in which we are unable to control ourselves. As I hold the cherry in my mouth I am unable to control my body’s natural impulse to produce saliva at the suggestion of mastication and eventually my mouth overflows with the lubricant.

Mummy Loves You

2016

The emotions and concerns of a mother suffering with postnatal depression are often not truly understood until long after the event. During that time feelings are often hidden and misinterpretted by both them and those around them. The fear of sharing the truth about their thoughts can be overwhelming.

This is my experience.
